High Tea at The Calyx

After checking out the ‘All About Flowers’ floral display, The Parents and I sat down for our afternoon High Tea.

Admittedly, it’s not as fancy-looking as that time we went to The Tea Room, but we had views of the beautiful floral display and the gardens around us.

roast brisket, horseradish brioche slider; cucumber, radish, green herbs; smoked salmon, capers, endive

capsicum, fetta, smoked paprika tartlet; sundried tomato, basil, mozzarella arancini; pork, fennel sausage roll, bush tomato relish

freshly baked warm scone, double Devonshire cream, strawberry preserve, lemon curd

chocolate, cranberry, coconut brownie; mini cup cake; chocolate choux, assorted French macaroons

The Parents and I skipped lunch for afternoon High Tea and we still couldn’t manage to eat everything. The roast brisket, horseradish brioche slider was really good, and The Parents really liked the pork and fennel sausage roll with bush tomato relish. Of course, freshly baked warm scones with jam and cream will always win me over, but that lemon curd was surprisingly good. Even The Parents liked it, and they usually shy away from lemon-flavoured things.

It was so nice to have High Tea at The Calyx after wandering through the floral display. It might not look super fancy, but the food is definitely tasty.
