October was just a very lovely month for me. It was a nice mix of getting out and about, enjoying the sun and festivities, but also spending time resting at home and tending to my (much neglected) garden. Overall, October has been good to me and I’m hoping this will continue through to the rest of the year (can you believe there’s a month and a half left!?!).
Making: an A-frame trellis for the raised garden bed. Now to wait patiently for the green beans and cucumbers to grow and climb all over it!
Cooking: ravioli with veggies.
Reading: a tiny bit of ‘The Angel’s Game’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Unfortunately, I haven’t made much time for reading this month.
Enjoying: yum cha with The Parents.
Sorting: my finances. All these numbers make my head hurt.
Wondering: why my scar is feeling a little sore lately.
Waiting: (im)patiently for my beloved green beans, cucumbers and tomatoes to grow.
Deciding: to start completing my application for the Masters in Counselling Social Work.
Wishing: that it wasn’t so freakin’ windy!
Disliking: how difficult it was to move our delivery of soil from the front yard to the back yard. On the bright side, my raised garden bed is now filled with soil.
Considering: which Sydney Festival 2017 events to buy tickets for.
Watching: ‘Castle’, ‘Law and Order: SVU’ and ‘Law and Order: Criminal Intent’ with The Bestie. I can’t believe I forgot how good ‘Law and Order’ is.
Marvelling: at The Garden of a Thousand Years art installation at Parramatta Lanes.
Wanting: to buy another raised garden bed to grow more veggies.
Needing: to get my hair trimmed into shape and take my car to get serviced.
Following: work colleagues on a stroll to Wisteria Gardens.
Noticing: the sweet scent of jasmine in the air.
Knowing: that I procrastinate too much.
Thinking: about what fruit and vegetables our family can grow right now.
Buying: pak choy seeds, basil seedlings, and a small birthday present for Super Boy.
Getting: too excited at picking mulberries with my client. It was my first time picking and eating mulberries too!
Admiring: the beautiful suburb of Manly.
Hoping: to grow more veggies to feed our family.
Loving: my bushwalk through North Head. It felt so good to be hiking out and about again.
Giggling: at the fact The Parents and I went out separately and we ended up at the same garden centre.
Planning: to grow some sort of deciduous climbing plant to act as a green wall.
Feeling: grateful for having the loveliest clients, the Spring weather and to be out and about with family and friends.
I decided to ‘take stock’ after seeing it over on Meet Me At Mike’s and you can join in too. You can check out the original ‘taking stock’ and find a list or simply see what others are up to. Let me know if you decide to join in. I’d love to see what you got up to.
