Taking Stock: September 2016

Spring has sprung! I’m so happy to welcome the warmer weather and to finally come out of my hibernation. September has been a nice mix of resting at home and getting out and about. I’m currently looking forward to spending more time outdoors, but here’s a look back at what I’ve been up to this month.

Making: nothing at all this month.

Cooking: gnocchi with plenty of greens.

Reading: ‘The Angel’s Game’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, which I’m enjoying much more than ‘Dracula’. I gave up on ‘Dracula’ because I found it difficult to get into.

Playing:I Love You Always Forever‘ by Betty Who, ‘The Greatest‘ by Sia, ‘Into You‘ by Ariana Grande (still) and ‘Closer‘ by The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey (still so obsessed with this song).

Enjoying: our visit to Parklands Food Festival. I especially enjoyed listening to Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia talk about sustainable gardening.

Sorting: out nothing this month, even though I have a lot of “adulting” to do.

Wondering: what activities to do when my Younger Sister visits at the end of the year.

Waiting: for nothing in particular.

Deciding: to finally start bushwalking again.

Wishing: that raised garden beds would magically appear in my backyard.

Liking: warm evening strolls around Lake Parramatta.

Disliking: that I have some kind of muscle tear in my upper left arm.

Considering: re-starting my basic daily yoga routine.

Watching: ‘Castle’ with The Bestie.

Marvelling: at native Australian plants and flowers.

Wanting: to play more Overwatch.

Needing: to do a lot more gardening. I already had a big weekend with re-potting flowers, sowing seeds, topping up soil and trimming some plants. However, there’s still so much I need to get done.

Following: the path around the oval near my office as I attempt to get more steps in my day.

Noticing: all the beautiful wisteria in bloom.

Knowing: that I need to be more mindful about what I eat and to drink more water.

Thinking: too much about him…

Buying: one too many drinks.

Getting: stupidly excited upon hearing that “car camping” is a thing. I really want to try it now!

Admiring: the full moon.

Hoping: that the iron supplements I’m taking will help with my energy levels. My blood tests came back with everything within range, but I still think it’s worth a shot.

Loving: my little hike to Jellybean Pool. It was so nice to finally start bushwalking and get amongst nature again.

Giggling: with Super Boy as he obligingly takes my silly pictures.

Planning: to build a wooden trellis for my beloved jasmine to climb over and be awesome.

Feeling: much better, health-wise, this month.

I decided to ‘take stock’ after seeing it over on Meet Me At Mike’s and you can join in too. You can check out the original ‘taking stock’ and find a list or simply see what others are up to. Let me know if you decide to join in. I’d love to see what you got up to.

Some months pass by faster than others. I wonder what a month with Draco would look like? XD

My whole life could do with some “adulting”, but at this stage I’m focusing on finances (boring!).
