Vivid Sydney 2016: part 03

Vivid Sydney has come and gone for another year. It was my third year attending and I almost didn’t go because I was feeling lazy (story of my life). I ended up going with some work colleagues this year and after checking out the lights at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, we walked around Circular Quay and The Rocks to see what else was around.

The Museum of Contemporary Art always has interesting light projections. This year’s theme was ‘The Matter of Painting’. It looked pretty cool.

Another regular at Vivid Sydney is Lighting the Sails. This year’s theme was ‘Songlines‘ which celebrates Australian Indigenous art and culture. It was one of my favourites this year. After watching for a while, we continued to wander around Circular Quay and The Rocks.

We were pretty tired after hours of wandering around, so we decided to rest up at a pub before heading home. So that’s it from me for another year of Vivid Sydney. It’s always worth stepping out in the cold for this festival of light. It makes Sydney feel even more magical.

After a full day at work, the motivation to go out in the cold night is barely there. But, I’m glad I made the effort. Vivid Sydney is always an amazing show. Loving your series on Vivid as always πŸ™‚
