This February was a leap year. I like the idea of using this extra day to ‘take a leap’ and do something you don’t normally do. However, I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary that day, or any day this month it seems. I’ve celebrated Lunar New Year and popped into The City a few times, but otherwise it’s mainly been work and rest. Not very exciting, is it?
Making: some progress on my knitted blanket/throw.
Cooking: salad with pan-fried salmon and a boiled egg. Surprisingly good and very filling.
Reading: ‘1Q84’ by Haruki Murakami. I’ve finally finished the book and I’m not really sure how I feel about how it ends.
Enjoying: my stroll through the Palace Rose Garden at Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
Sorting: out nothing for my upcoming trip.
Wondering: what book I should start reading next.
Waiting: patiently for the day to remove my bandage.
Deciding: to start doing some yoga again… only to stop after less than a week…
Wishing: on the ‘wishing tree’ that my family and I will have a happy and healthy new year.
Liking: that The Parents are getting more into gardening and home-grown goodness.
Disliking: that someone put a scratch on my beloved Chiswick (car) and didn’t even leave a note.
Considering: doing a post-graduate social work course with my work colleague.
Watching: ‘The Blacklist’ on Netflix. I love Reddington.
Marvelling: at beautiful old buildings that are dotted around The City.
Wanting: to buy a garden shed that comes with its own rainwater tank.
Needing: to sit down and sort out/review my finances.
Following: the map to see all 12 Lunar Lanterns.
Noticing: bees buzzing around the backyard.
Knowing: that I need to find a little more motivation.
Thinking: about how to start construction for the fruit and vegetable garden.
Buying: nothing this month.
Getting: nowhere with The Wasteland (a.k.a. the front yard).
Admiring: my Mum’s cooking, especially for our Chinese New Year eve dinner. She made taro-stuffed chicken wings that were sooo good!
Hoping: I’ll be able to go on one little adventure next month.
Loving: dinner at Azuma again. Their Omakase degustation menu and oysters are oh-so good! And toro! Oh my gosh, that toro…
Giggling: with friends while playing Mario.
Planning: to start planning things for my trip to Japan. I’ve sorted out accommodation and that’s about it really…
Feeling: happy and hopeful.
I decided to ‘take stock’ after seeing it over on Meet Me At Mike’s and you can join in too. You can check out the original ‘taking stock’ and find a list or simply see what others are up to. Let me know if you decide to join in. I’d love to see what you got up to.
