Dinner at Azuma again

On a Tuesday evening in February, my friends and I found ourselves at Azuma again. Not that I’m complaining. As I said last time, I would happily return for the Omakase degustation menu and their oysters, which is exactly what we did. We also ordered some other dishes.

A bite-sized portion of this salad actually comes as part of your Omakase menu ‘amuse bouche’, but The Bestie loves it so much we ordered a dish to share. Deceptively simple, but oh-so yummy.

The special of the day was toro sashimi. Oh. My. Gosh. Seriously. This tasted so good, so fresh and was melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. I tried a small bite with soy sauce and wasabi, but mainly savoured every bite as is. It set us back AU$11 per piece, but was worth every cent. I am now addicted to toro sashimi.

If you’re wondering what Azuma‘s Omakase degustation menu looks like, you can see it from my previous visit. Or better yet, you should see it in person. Don’t forget the oysters, and try the toro sashimi if it’s on the menu. Now, I wonder if I’ll be going back for a third time soon…
