Taking Stock: May 2015

May was a slow and rocky start, but things eventually picked up in the end. There was a fair bit of “adulting” and trying to sort things out in my life. There was also a fair bit of relaxing and exploring the world around me. May definitely was a step in the right direction and, for me, a much needed change of pace.

Making: a knitted throw/blanket. A woman can try again, right?

Cooking: cauliflower soup for the first time ever and loving it.

Reading: Frankie magazine.

Playing: β€œI Could Be The One” by Avicii vs Nicki Romero, “Waiting for Love” by Avicii ft Martin Garrix, and “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon.

Enjoying: my first-ever trip to the Jenolan Caves (blog posts coming eventually).

Sorting: out some issues with Super Boy.

Wondering: how compatible Super Boy and I really are, and how do people realise when it’s the right time to move on.

Waiting: for nothing in particular.

Deciding: that I need to do more bushwalking.

Wishing: I could do a total kitchen make-over at Hello HQ.

Liking: my visit to the display home village with Super Boy. It’s like I’m finally allowed to snoop through other people’s homes.

Disliking: the arguing and uncertainty with Super Boy.

Considering: ending things with Super Boy, but then talking things through and deciding to give it another chance.

Watching: a new season of ‘8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown’, and some episodes of ‘Insight‘.

Marvelling: at the beauty of Jenolan Caves.

Wanting: a new bed frame, but can’t really justify it since mine is still functional.

Needing: more green space and more nature in my life.

Wearing: Summer dresses with tights and a coat. I may need to do some shopping for Winter clothes…

Following: bushwalking trails in the Blue Mountains.

Noticing: pure silence.

Knowing: I should go out more on my own rather than waiting for other people to be free or available.

Thinking: about what hot lunches I can make for work.

Buying: not a lot apart from groceries.

Getting: back into some gardening and remembering why I love it.

Admiring: all the pretty lights at Vivid Sydney this year, especially Enchanted Sydney.

Hoping: The Parents will start taking better care of themselves and start eating a bit better.

Loving: Vivid Sydney so much this year (you can read part one and part two of my experience if you’re interested. Or head over to Lignum Draco for a better look). It’s a great reason to come out of my Winter hibernation and makes me really appreciate Sydney and what it has to offer.

Giggling: with my Younger Sister as we catch up over Skype.

Planning: on what I can and should realistically buy for the upstairs living area at Hello HQ.

Feeling: energised and excited about things ahead, even though I have nothing planned.

It certainly sounds like a mixed bag, and perhaps even a bit of a relationship rollercoaster. I hope it resolves the way you want it to.

Plan ahead. Next year allow more time for Vivid.

I’ve walked in the Uluru and Kata Tjuta areas alone in tourism off season. If you want silence/solitude, that is where to find it.

Thanks Draco. Life’s full of ups and downs. I’m just glad it wasn’t all bad this month.

I may need to plan ahead for Vivid next year, but was happy I got to be ‘enchanted’ πŸ˜€

I don’t think I’m brave enough to walk those trails alone, but it’s definitely noted. How long ago did you do the walk? Do you have any photos to share? πŸ™‚
