Those Dishes Won’t Do Themselves

Those dishes won’t do themselves, but that’s fine by me. I actually like doing the dishes. Don’t start sending me your dirty dishes to do though. It’s not something I’d want to do all the time, but as household chores go, it’s probably one of my favourites. There’s something so satisfying about seeing plates, bowls and cutlery become clean and stacked neatly by the sink. Must be my inner clean-freak.

I also don’t mind laundry. Put clothes into the machine. Do your own thing while the machine does its thing. Then hang out to dry. Easy. Ironing isn’t too bad because I don’t have much of it to do. I tend to buy clothes based on how easy it is to look after. Call me lazy, but it has saved me pointless hours in front of an iron.

I find most household tasks manageable, really. But if there’s one I can’t stand, it’s vacuuming. Oh, and mopping. Make that two tasks then. Honestly, pushing around a vacuum or a mop is a lot of hard work and, at Hello HQ, seems very un-rewarding. No sooner have I finished vacuuming do I see a stray hair or a patch of dust I’ve missed. And I can’t even tell the difference between before and after anyway. I sometimes wonder, “what’s the point?”

So I’ll wash the dirty dishes any day. They might not do themselves, but I can look after that. And if you can look after vacuuming and mopping, then perhaps we’ll get along just fine.

…that’s why you see the vacuum cleaner hanging around my room all the time – because there’s always something new to vacuum on the floor – like, every day…!!! Annoying, isn’t it?

I had company over the other day so after vacuum cleaning everything, of course it needed to be stored away… I hate it because I keep seeing fluff and stuff on the floor. But I’m trying to keep tough and ignore it – after all, I might be a vacuum-cleaning-maniac 😀 So let’s find out..^^
