April just seemed like a blur of stress and anxiety for me. It never rains, but it pours. Which could also describe the Sydney weather during April as well. But there’s always the positives, like, I got to wear my wellington boots and jump into puddles. And I guess that’s what April really was for me — searching for the positives amongst all the negatives. It wasn’t easy and I’m still struggling with it, but I think April has turned me into a slighty stronger person. Albeit, a rain-drenched one.
Making: nothing as I couldn’t decide on what to knit. Another scarf? Try a blanket again? Perhaps an animal hat? What about a cardigan? Gah…
Cooking: falafel salad (which is my new obsession) and soups. The weather is calling for warm lunches at work now.
Reading: “The Art of Belonging” with Hugh Mackay (almost finished).
Enjoying: an impromptu IKEA date-night with Super Boy.
Sorting: out my finances.
Wondering: if I’m “adult enough” to handle things.
Waiting: for my Dad’s angiogram, for my Dad to leave hospital, for my Dad’s follow-up with his heart specialist. Just a lot of waiting…
Deciding: to finally open up that savings account.
Wishing: I could spend some quality-time with Super Boy.
Liking: that The Parents have started to include more veggies in their diet.
Disliking: “simple” surgery that has left my Dad’s arm all bruised-looking and swollen.
Considering: changing my goals.
Watching: old episodes of ‘8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown’.
Marvelling: at just how much it can rain.
Wanting: to get rid of all the mess inside this house.
Needing: some time to myself. Maybe in my bed. And with my teddy bear.
Wearing: my favourite black coat I bought years ago from Topshop in London. Already. It’s not even Winter yet!
Following: The Design Chaser on Instagram for some interiors inspiration.
Noticing: the garden needs a lot of TLC right now.
Knowing: that I haven’t taken the time to meditate recently, and that I need to.
Thinking: about what to cook for work lunches.
Buying: an investment property. What have I done?
Getting: anxious about purchasing investment property.
Admiring: Super Boy and how solid he’s been during my moments of freaking out (there were a lot of those moments).
Hoping: next month will be better.
Loving: falafel. I need to learn how to make it!
Giggling: at episodes of ‘8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown’.
Planning: to buy a sofa for the upstairs living room at Hello HQ.
Feeling: anxious still but a lot better, more rested, and ready to face the world again.
