My March started off pretty well. I started going out to dinner with some friends again, went on a dinner date with Super Boy, and attended a fantastic two-day course for work. The weather’s been pretty good too, with it feeling more like Summer than Autumn. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but things went downhill pretty fast. With news of my Dad’s heart not being 100%, a quite challenging client, and an argument with Super Boy, I’m ready to kick March aside and welcome April with open arms. Honestly March, we were so full of promise. What happened?
Making: a knitted white infinity scarf. It’s finished, but I didn’t join it all professional-looking. Oops…
Cooking: spaghetti with pesto, rocket, cherry tomatoes and feta cheese, and a bean and lentil tomato soup.
Reading: “The Art of Belonging” with Hugh Mackay (nearly done).
Playing: “Hold My Hand” by Jess Glynne, “RIVA (Restart the Game)” by Klingande feat. Broken Back, “I Want You to Know” by Zedd feat. Selena Gomez, “Want To Want Me” by Jason Derulo, and “Where Are Ü Now” by Jack U feat. Justin Bieber. Don’t judge!
Enjoying: the two-day course I attended on Palliative Care Perspectives (I know, what a nerd, right?). It was very informative and had good points to put into practice.
Sorting: through my closet and drawers again for another round of clothing clean out.
Wondering: if Super Boy and I are compatible with our very different personalities and outlook on the world around us.
Waiting: for my Dad’s angiogram appointment.
Deciding: to start living minimally. I’m not sure how it will go, or if it’s something I can keep up, but it’s been pretty good so far.
Wishing: for more energy and motivation.
Liking: the 30-day minimalism challenge.
Disliking: getting treated for scabies (just a precaution).
Considering: my options for saving money.
Watching: just a tiny bit of ‘8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown’, but otherwise nothing else.
Marvelling: at what a difference having a clean car makes.
Wanting: to knit a big cozy blanket.
Needing: to take a break and try to look after myself.
Wearing: Summer dresses with tights. A sign of colder times.
Following: Headspace‘s step-by-step meditation program.
Noticing: that I’ve been really grumpy and irritable at work. I don’t like it. It’s not how I like to perform.
Knowing: tough times don’t last forever. But honestly, it’s hard to put this knowledge into action when you’re in the midst of it all.
Thinking: about the kind of person I am and if this is who I wanted to be.
Buying: nothing except groceries and car insurance. How exciting… Actually, in all seriousness, it’s been pretty good to cut down on unnecessary spending.
Getting: really frustrated in dealing with a particular client.
Admiring: spaces that are light, airy, and incorporate a lot of plants.
Hoping: that things will be alright.
Loving: the dumplings from Taste of Shanghai. Oh man, I love dumplings.
Giggling: at nothing.
Planning: to update the upstairs living area at Hello HQ.
Feeling: tired, stressed, drained and about to break…
