Scavenged Finds: Birds of a Feather

I’ve taken quite a fancy to scavenging for bits and pieces to decorate the home. I’m always thinking of ways to furnish Hello HQ on the cheap because:

a) I’m trying to save money;

b) I do like a good challenge; and,

c) it’ll be a house unlike any other house.

That’s the theory anyway. We’ll see how I go. I’m off to a good start already though because I found these feathers amongst the leaves after doing some grocery shopping. I hate to think of what happened to the poor bird/s that these feathers came from, but I was assured that birds usually lose their feathers just like I lose my hair.

I wasn’t sure what I’d do with the feathers when I picked them up, but now I’m thinking about putting them in a nice frame to hang up in the house. What do you think? Any ideas?

    My 2 cents:

    1. Place all 5 feathers in a long rectangular frame (horizontal), or square frame depending on the size of the feathers, or

    2.Frame 3 of the feathers in a square frame, or

    3. Frame one feather in a frame, x3 for a triptych effect.

      Thanks for the ideas. I’m liking all the suggestions, so it’s hard to decide how to go about it. I’m leaning slightly towards putting all 5 into one frame.

      I haven’t been yet, but am planning to some time over the weekend. I’ll keep you guessing as to which day 😉

      Have you been to see the terracotta warriors yet?
